Kanini Z. Rodney-Phillips, MD, MPH/MBA, FACP

Dr. Kanini Z. Rodney-Phillips is a board-certified Internist with close to 20 years of primary care and women's health practice. Dr. Rodney has held numerous leadership positions serving as chief of primary care, chief of mental health, and chief of staff at various times. She is currently chief of a women’s health service line, deputy chief of primary care, a regional women’s health consultant, and a national subject matter expert on a cancer screening and care coordination registry.

Her administrative and programmatic portfolios include clinical operations, special programs and populations, health equity, maternal health, process and performance improvement initiatives, and the integration of telehealth and informatics into clinical practice.

Kanini received her MD from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta GA, completed her Internal Medicine residency training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/ Harvard Medical School, Boston MA, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).

Kanini received her dual Master degreesIn Public Health and Business Administration  from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health and Goizueta Business School. Her Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.

Dr. Rodney- Phillips  is a graduate of several leadership programs and is currently pursuing her LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt certification.  She is a Board Member of the Walter Rodney Foundation.

Kanini is also a children’s book author with a debut picture book currently in contract negotiations. She is working on retellings of Walter Rodney's children's books for an even younger audience.

Kanini is married to E. Bruce Phillips, Jr, a talented artist, and is the proud mother of her son, Skye.
