A Tribute to Amiri Baraka

1934 - 2014

The Rodney Family and Walter Rodney Foundation sends its sincere condolences to the family of Amiri Baraka.  As a poet, playwright and community activist, Baraka used his literary gift and skills to fight for justice.   He has left a legacy that will continue to educate and inspire future generations.

The Walter Rodney Foundation was honored that Mr. Baraka was the keynote speaker at the 3rd Annual Walter Rodney Symposium in 2006. He will be missed and long remembered.
